What are Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are metrics that measure user experience on websites, used by Google as SEO ranking factors. They include 3 main metrics: LCP (Largest Contentful Paint), FID (First Input Delay), and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift).

Key Metrics

  • LCP (Largest Contentful Paint): Main content load time (< 2.5s is good)
  • FID (First Input Delay): First interaction response time (< 100ms is good)
  • CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift): Page layout stability (< 0.1 is good)
  • FCP (First Contentful Paint): Time to first content display
  • TTI (Time to Interactive): Time until page is interactive
  • TBT (Total Blocking Time): Total time blocking interactions

How to improve website speed

  • Optimize images (compress, use WebP, lazy loading)
  • Minify CSS, JavaScript, and HTML
  • Use CDN for content delivery
  • Enable browser caching and compression
  • Reduce number of HTTP requests
  • Use fast server response time
  • Remove unnecessary JavaScript and CSS
